trim it !

“To be a successful decision maker, we have to edit.” (from Blink by Malcom Gladwell)

I remember watching one of those reality TV shows where a judge was giving a contestant some useful advice. She said that whilst the contestant’s designs were creative, if he wanted his creations to have more punch, he had to learn to edit.

I was just thinking about this information-overload age where we have a huge myriad of choices to get the latest news quickly – google, facebook, twitter, good old emails, TV, radio and papers. And the ubiquitous handphone messages of course.

Life will be boring without learning new things and experimenting with fresh ideas. So with experimenting versus editing – how do we strike a healthy balance?

What do we have to edit out of our lives to be more dynamic?

My self-editing goes by a simple rule of thumb. One project a time keeps me focused and sane, for sure!

p/s: Am working on an upcoming ‘best moments’ project ... stay tuned!
